The Working Weaver Society is a community organization that focuses on sharing the knowledge and experiences of professional weavers to facilitate the development and growth of its’ members’ businesses.
Our goals are to help other weavers grow their own successful businesses and strengthen weaving communities. We are doing so with two major keystones, our website and our podcast. The podcast is an audio project where we (Tegan and Eric Frisino) interview professionals in the weaving world at all different stages of their careers. We want to give a broad perspective on what it means to be a working weaver. We feel that is important to share this knowledge not only with each other but with the public as a whole. It will elevate the public’s understanding of what goes into being a working weaver and develop a greater appreciation for the craft.
The website is a digital place for us all to connect. Here we can ask questions, solve problems, and have discussions about being working weavers. It will be a gathering place of tools and resources for us to have access to as we reach different stages of our careers. Through forums, web tools, and directories of resources and suppliers, we are encouraging the advancement of the craft for a more transparent and accessible supply chain.
So, join us in making the Working Weaver Society a group where together we can support professional weavers at any stage of their career.
